Cobbles

White Marble
This very smooth, pearly white cobble is the big brother to our White Marble Selected Cobbles. Size: 300-200mm

Rainbow
An exotic golden or brownish orange banded, sandstone cobble. A vivid eye-catcher. Size: 300-200mm

White Marble Cobbles
This pure pearly white marble is the whitest cobble we have found. Size: 120-80, 80-60, 60-40, 40-20mm

Angel Stone
A compact schist with markedly contrasting yet intimately interwoven bands of dark greenish grey chlorite and white calcium carbonate. Both beautiful and striking. Size: 300-200mm

Meadowgrass Marble
Generally light grey with flashes of green, the colours range from pure white to grey threaded with black veinlets, the whole cut by yellowish green serpentine veins. Once quarried on the Isle of Iona as an ornamental marble, similar green serpentine has been a favourite of sculptors and jewellers for centuries. Size: 150-80mm

Caledonian
Primarily grey granites, sometimes pinkish and grey to buff quartzites, with other rock-types as per Caledonian Mixed Glacial boulders. The quartzites can sometimes be sub-angular to sub-rounded; all other rock types are glacially well rounded and smooth. Caged (on pallets) cobbles are individually hand selected. Size: 150mm up to 400mm as cobbles (for larger sizes see boulders)

Silver Grey Granite
A remarkably smooth and well-rounded, speckled silver grey granite cobble of top quality. Size: 300-200mm

Slate Paddlestones
Specially tumbled from crushed slate waste so that it has nicely rounded edges. The flat nature of the material is good for dry riverbeds, mulches and many speciality designs. Size: 125-50mm

Scottish Beach
The smoothest and most round natural cobble in the U.K and a product of international quality. Formed by the tidal reworking of a glacial river deposit, now a 'raised beach'. When dry these are predominantly light greys with hints of pink and other hues; when wet these multi-pastel tints, often speckled or banded, are accentuated. Very compatible with our Caledonian Boulders and Cobbles, having been formed from similar quartzites, granites and gneisses. Size: 200-100, 100-75, 75-50mm Scottish Beach is also available as smaller pebbles. As the size becomes smaller, below about 50mm, we call them pebbles, the colours slowly become slightly richer with an increase in the proportion of granite. Size: 50-30, 30-20, 20-14, 14-8, 8-4mm
